With the piazza only 2 minutes walk away, it's a perfect location for taking a stroll into the town and enjoying a leisurely drink outside one of the bars. Within Loreto Aprutino historical centre there are 3 museums containing local finds and 3 churches. There is a tourist office in the square where you can find information regarding local tourist attractions as well as general Abruzzo places of interest. On Thursday mornings you can experience the local culture as it comes alive on market day.
Venturing outside of Loreto Aprutino, the beach at Monetsilvano is 20 minutes drive away. Pescara airport is only 25 minutes drive from Loreto and in Pescara one can find many shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife.
There are many other hillside towns in the nearby areas including Penne, where a large market is held on Saturdays. The mountains are widely used for skiing and can be reached in a 30 minute drive. Loreto Aprutino is a fantastic location as there is so much within a manageable distance. There's a great deal of historical culture and beautiful scenery, including the national parks. With friendly locals, great food and places to visit it's the perfect holiday destination.
